All teaching activities will be held in Croatian. However, foreign students in mixed groups will have the opportunity to attend additional office hours with the lecturer and teaching assistants in English to help master the course materials. Additionally, the lecturer will refer foreign students to the corresponding literature in English, as well as give them the possibility of taking the associated exams in English.

Description:

Heat sources. Heat conduction in solid materials with and without internal heat sources.
Basics of hydrodynamics. Conservation laws for fluid mass and momentum. Mass transfer.
Convective heat transfer. Determination of heat transfer coefficients for forced and natural
circulation. Heat transfer during phase change (boiling and condensation). Thermal
radiation (radiation heat transfer). Heat exchangers and cooling towers. Numerical methods
for heat and mass transfer (finite difference method, finite element method, finite volume
method). Cooling of electric and electronic devices. Gas-vapor mixtures and
air-conditioning.
