Basic properties (zero resistivity, Meissner effect). Characteristics of low- and high-temperature superconductors. Type I and type II materials, critical magnetic fields and currents. The London model. Thermodynamic properties. The Ginzburg-Landau model; mixed state. Basic principles of the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer model. Technology and applications (science, industry, medicine, transport)
