Description:
|
In our time it was the development of computing science that gave huge contribution and new stimulus to the traditional exegesis, i.e. reading, translating and interpreting Bible. Hence, the Biblical theology is a valuable opportunity to offer ripe intellectual and responsible approach to the spiritual treasure that constituted European civilization and science.
The Biblical theology on FER will on one hand enable young experts in engineering, mathematics and informatics to approach the Holy Scriptures in a way beyond knowledge of their childhood and first formation, and to avoid fundamentalism. On the other hand the Biblical theology offers proven principles of spirituality and values that are fruitfully applied in personal life as well as in professional and social ethics.
The method of the Biblical theology is constant: systematic analysis of the structure, contents and message of the biblical texts, asking about their origin and impact on the addressees. The lectures on FER should facilitate:
- orientation in the full collection of canonical books of the Bible
- finding and understanding texts
- approach to the scientific literature
- presentation of responsible interpretation.
The lessons should offer an introduction to the original language of the Bible, to the contemporary exegetical methods, and an opportunity for all participants to present one chosen topic and one book of the Bible.
