Područje interesa Društva za računalnu inteligenciju je teorija, oblikovanje, primjena i razvoj biološki i lingvistički motiviranih računalnih paradigmi s naglaskom na neuronske mreže, konekcijske sustave, genetičke algoritme, evolucijsko programiranje, neizrazite sustave i hibridne inteligentne sustave koji su temeljeni na ovim paradigmama.

Short BIO: Stjepan Picek received his MsC degree in Electrical Engineering in 2008 and is curerntly pursuing double doctorate at the Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Zagreb. He is currently a PhD researcher at the Digital Security group at the Radboud University Nijmegen. During the last six years he has also worked in IT industry. His research interests include evolutionary computation and cryptology.

 

Abstract: This presentation deals with several applications of evolutionary computation (EC) to the area of cryptology. Cryptology includes a plethora of difficult and non-deterministic problems where evolutionary computation can be employed. In fact, EC methods have been sucessfully used in cryptology for more than 20 years. However, more recently, the attempts remain isolated until now. This talk focuses on two applications of EC in cryptology. First, a method for evolving more side-channel resistant S-boxes is presented. Second, a possible application of the genetic algorithms to the fault analysis is presented. Finally, several interesting future research directions are presented.
