Odjel za tehniku u medicini i biologiji


Područje interesa Odjela obuhvaća sva područja biomedicinskog inženjerstva kao interdisciplinarnog područja primjene inženjerskih znanja u medicini i biologiji. Rad članova Odjela uključuje primjenu matematičkih metoda, eksperimentalne postupke, razvoj novih tehnologija te praktične kliničke aplikacije. Odjel također provodi obrazovne i profesionalne aktivnosti te suradnju s gospodarstvom.

Hrvatsko društvo za medicinsku i biološku tehniku (HDMBT) i Odjel za tehniku u medicini i biologiji (EMB18) Hrvatske sekcije IEEE pozivaju vas na predavanja

“Discrete Wavelet Transform denoising techniques for AF parametrics available”

koje će održati doktorski kandidat Jonathan Goodfellow i

 

“Fast algorithms for µ-ECG signals recovery available”

koje će održati profesor Omar Escalona,

obojica sa Sveučilišta u Ulsteru, Sjeverna Irska, Ujedinjeno Kreljevstvo.

Predavanje se održavaju u sklopu projekta „Wrist and arm sensing technologies for cardiac arrhythmias detection“.

 

Predavanja će se održati u utorak, 15. prosinca 2015. godine s početkom u 11:15 sati u Knjižnici ZESOI. Predvidivo ukupno trajanje predavanja je dva školska sata. Posebno pozivamo studente preddiplomskog, diplomskog i poslijediplomskog studija. U nastavku slijede kratki sažetci predavanja i životopisi predavača.

“Discrete Wavelet Transform denoising techniques for AF parametrics available”

Synopsis: Introduction. The Electrocardiogram. Atrial Fibrillation. Signal Processing in AF analysis. Noise Sources within the ECG. Introduction to Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). DWT denoising. Conclusions and Future Work.

 

Jonathan Goodfellow: BSc in Biomedical Engineering, 2013, Ulster University. Currently a PhD Candidate for 2016 at Ulster University. PhD research topic on: “Electrocardiographic Signal Analysis to Assist Characterisation and Low Energy Cardioversion of Atrial Fibrillation”.

 

 

„Fast algorithms for µ-ECG signals recovery available“

Synopsis: Introduction and brief overview of the WASTCArD project. Micro-ECG signals (μ-ECG) and far-field electrograms. Body surface cardiac potentials vs noise contributing sources. The clinical gold standard method for μ-ECG signals recovery (SAECG). Limitations of the standard beat alignment technique: MCM. Alternative fast algorithm for ECG Beat Alignment: SFP. Results of in-silico evaluation of MCM vs SFP.

 

Prof. Omar Escalona: Born in Maracay, Venezuela. He obtained his BSc in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from University of Surrey in 1980, his MSc in Electronic Engineering from University Simón Bolívar (USB) in 1986, and his PhD from University of Ulster (UU) in 1993. In 1995 he was appointed as Associate Professor at USB and in 1999 attained the Titular Professorship position. In 2001, he was appointed as Visiting Professor at UU. Then in 2007 he was appointed as Director of the Centre for Advanced Cardiovascular Research at NIBEC, UU. Professor Escalona’s research interest is on cardiac mapping, atrial defibrillation devices, atrial fibrillation ECG characterisation, intracardiac impedance (ICI) characterisation, arm and wrist wearables for long-term heart rhythm monitoring and high resolution ECG waveform analysis.
