Područje interesa Odjela obuhvaća sva područja biomedicinskog inženjerstva kao interdisciplinarnog područja primjene inženjerskih znanja u medicini i biologiji. Rad članova Odjela uključuje primjenu matematičkih metoda, eksperimentalne postupke, razvoj novih tehnologija te praktične kliničke aplikacije. Odjel također provodi obrazovne i profesionalne aktivnosti te suradnju s gospodarstvom.

This is the 1st World Conference on Biomedical Applications of Electromagnetic Fields – EMF-Med 2018, organized in Split, Croatia, 10-13 September 2018.
It is co-organized by COST Action EMF-MED, and endorsed by a number of related interdisciplinary societies: European BioElectromagnetics Association (EBEA), International Neuromodulation Society (INS), The Bioelectromagnetics Society (BEMS), International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE), European Society for Hyperthermic Oncology (ESHO), and IEEE geo units.
The conference features both papers and abstracts; papers to be submitted for indexing in IEEE Xplore, abstracts to be published in the Book of Abstracts. The conference is also followed by a special issue in Wiley's "Bioelectromagnetics" journal.
