Odjel za teoriju i primjenu mikrovalova

Područje interesa Društva za teoriju i primjenu mikrovalova je teorija, primjena i tehnologija mikrovalova, valovoda, bežične tehnologije koji se odnosi na korištenje komponenti, uređaja, prijenosnih linija i sustava vezanih uz generiranje, modulaciju, demodulaciju, upravljanje, prijenos, detekciju kao i efekte elektromagnetskih signala. Uključuje znanstvene, tehničke i industrijske aktivnosti. Teorija i tehnika mikrovalova primjenjuje fizička i matematička počela u analizi struktura dimenzija koje predstavljaju značajan dio valne duljine ili kada se trebaju uzeti u obzir propagacijski aspekti.

                     Design strategies for implantable antennas

koje će održati prof. Anja Skrivervik, PhD, profesor na Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Lausanne, Švicarska.

Abstract:

Considerations on efficient design and characterization of antennas for bio-implantable communication devices are presented. These devices are used in conjunction with health monitoring or health care systems. First, the main challenges to be met in designing such antennas are presented, followed by the proposition of a design procedure. Finally, the specific difficulties in characterizing implantable antennas are emphasized.


CV:

Anja Skrivervik obtained her electrical engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 1986, and her PhD from the same institution in 1992, for which she received the Latsis award. After a stay at the university of Rennes as an invited Research Fellow and two years in the industry, she returned part time to EPFL as an Assistant Professor in 1996, and is now a Professeur Titulaire at this institution. Her teaching activities include courses on microwaves and antennas. Her research activities include electrically small antennas, implantable and on body antennas, multifrequency and ultra wideband antennas, numerical techniques for electromagnetics and microwave and millimeter wave MEMS. She is author or co-author of more than 100 scientific publications. She is very active in European collaboration and European projects. She is currently the chairperson of the Swiss URSI, the Swiss representative for COST action 297 and a member of the board of the Center for High Speed Wireless Communications of the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research.
