Ovaj odjel zanima se za teme iz područja teorije i primjene robotike i automatizacije. Pod robotikom se ovdje prvenstveno podrazumijeva zanimanje za inteligentne strojeve i sustave korištene, na primjer, u istraživanju okoliša (podmorja, svemira), pružanju usluga ljudima, ili u naprednoj proizvodnji. Pod automatizacijom se prvenstveno podrazumijeva zanimanje za primjenu automatizacijskih metoda i postupaka u tvornicama, uredima, kućanstvima ili, na primjer, u transportnim sustavima s ciljem povećanja njihove djelotvornosti i produktivnosti.

“Fault tolerant control & Actual challenges in maritime automation and control”
koje će održati Prof. Dr.-Ing. Torsten Jeinsch i Martin Kurowski, Institute of Automation, Control Application Center Rostock, Njemačka.
Predavanje će se održati u srijedu 06. studenog 2013. godine u 12h u dvorani B-5.

The University of Rostock was founded in 1419 and is one of the oldest universities in Germany and the oldest in the region of the Baltic Sea. The professorship of control engineering is established at the Institute of Automation, which is part of the Faculty of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. The professorship consists of three groups and research is done in the areas of automotive, medical and maritime control. Currently, the research groups are involved in different projects funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the industry. In the Application Center Control Engineering at the Institute of Automation, research on fault tolerant systems constitutes a major focal area. Problems from the field of model and data based survey and diagnosis as well as fault-tolerant control is investigated.
The presentation gives an overview about the Institute of Automation and shows same actual challenges in fault diagnosis and maritime automation and control.
