Predavanje će održati Melita Mihaljević, dipl.ing. koja se nakon stjecanja diplome FER-a zaposlila kao Production Engineer u Facebooku. Uz predavanje saznajte kako je raditi u toj velikoj i uspješnoj tvrtci, te naučite kako funkcionira aplikacija koju koriste milijarde korisnika.
Predavanje je besplatno i otvoreno za sve, a posebno pozivamo studentice i studente, djelatnice i djelatnike FER-a, te članice i članove IEEE-a da nam se pridruže. Događaj je organiziran u sklopu Interesne skupine Žene u inženjerstvu Hrvatske sekcije IEEE.

Facebook serves 1.3 billion users across multiple regions. To make sure that all users have a consistent experience on the site, we built cache invalidation pipeline. This talk will cover cache invalidation pipeline for both caching solutions Memcache and TAO cross multiple regions. The talk will also touch a bit on how we monitor and debug cache consistency problems.
Melita Mihaljevic is a Production Engineer on the Global Consistency team at Facebook. The team is the first responder for keeping the cache consistent and for the health for Facebook's proprietary real-time data streaming infrastructure. They ensure that users have a consistent experience on the site across all their devices. Melita is actively developing and maintaining one of the cache invalidations pipeline services.

She started her career interning for Google in i18n team and after graduating at FER in 2009 she worked in Croatia in Asseco-SEE on mobile banking solutions for several years. Except her work at Facebook she has mentored several women at Hackbright Academy - 10 weeks program for women to learn coding. She is part of the Systers organization and in this years Grace Hopper Scholarship Committee.
WIE (engl. Women in Engineering) predstavlja skupinu IEEE članica i članova koji su prepoznali i pridružili se nastojanju IEEE-a da inspirira, uključi, ohrabri i ojača stručni i društveni angažman žena - inženjerki i znanstvenica - širom svijeta. Ova interesna skupina raznovrsnim aktivnostima promovira žene u struci i podržava ih u razvoju stručne karijere.To je najveća međunarodna stručna udruga s takvim ciljevima. WIE sada ima više od 250 interesnih skupina širom svijeta s preko 11.000 članica i članova.
