Odjel za obradu signala uključuje znanstvena područja poput teorije signala i sustava, teorije i primjene kodiranja, uporabe filtara, prijenosa signala, estimacije, detekcije, analize, prepoznavanja, sinteze te reprodukcije signala digitalnim ili analognim uređajima i tehnikama. Pojam signala uključuje audio i video signale, govor, slike, komunikacije, signal sonara, radara kao i medicinske, glazbene i druge signale.

Abstract:
Basic configurations of time domain and frequency domain OCT detectors will be presented including swept source OCT and it's principle of operation. Biomedical and industrial application of OCT Optical Coherence Tomography or better known in the industrial application as low coherence interferometry will be discussed.
Using advanced photonics and fiber optics, OCT represents a new class of real-time diagnostic tools suited to a wide range of non-invasive in-situ medical and industrial applications. By using infra red light, a cross-sectional images of high resolution are obtained or measurements with the micrometer precision.
Presenter's biography:
Vuk Bartulovic, obtained a diploma in 1978 in Electrical Engineering, from Department for Electrical Measurements and Systems, Zagreb University. He continued graduate studies at the same department at ETF/FER Zagreb and McGill University, Montreal.
Novacam Technologies Inc. which he co-founded is specializing in design of industrial and medical detectors including x-ray and nuclear medicine detectors. For the last four years he was working on development and commercialization of Optical Coherence Tomography detectors. Prior to founding Novacam in 1997, Mr. Bartulovic was the Director of Engineering at Park Medical Systems Inc., a Montreal-based company that designed and manufactured gamma cameras and SPECT systems for Nuclear Medicine. Prior to Park Medical he co-founded Modular Vision System Inc. (MVSI), a high tech company that designed and manufactured laser range sensors. After graduation in 1978 he was teaching Computers/Informatics for five years at MIOC - Zagreb. He is a co-author of two US patents.
