Odjel za elektroenergetiku

Područje djelovanja Odjela za elektroenergetiku uključuje planiranje, istraživanje, razvoj, oblikovanje, primjenu, gradnju, instalaciju i stavljanje u funkciju aparature, opreme, strukture, materijala i sustava za pouzdanu i ekonomičnu proizvodnju, prijenos i distribuciju, pretvorbu, mjerenje i upravljanje električnom energijom. Uključuje razvoj inženjerskih standarada, pružanje informacija i uputstava javnosti i zakonodavcima, kao i tehničko-znanstvene, edukacijske i druge aktivnosti koje pridonose području električne energije ili koriste tehnike ili proizvode vezane uz dato područje.

Hrvatska sekcija IEEE, Odjel za energetiku i Studentski ogranak ZG organizirali su predavanje pod naslovom:

Past, present and the future of electric power systems

Predavanje je održao profesor emeritus Hermann Dommel sa University of British Columbia in Vancouver, dana 20. IV. 2007. 11:00 h, na FER Zagreb u Sivoj vijećnici.

Prof. Dommel Hermann
Dr. Hermann Dommel is a well-known authority on electromagnetic transients in power systems. He is currently Professor Emeritus at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Prior to joining the university in 1973, he worked for Bonneville Power Administration on various computer programs, including what became known as the EMTP. He has taught short courses on electromagnetic transients for utilities and universities around the world. Dr. Dommel is a Life Fellow of the IEEE. In 1989, he received the Outstanding Power Engineering Educator Award from the IEEE Power Engineering Society. From 1995 to 2000 he held the Industrial Research Chair sponsored by B.C Hydro and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.

PES odjel Hrvatske sekcije IEEE dodjeljuje godišnju nagradu za izvanrednog inženjera (Outstanding Engineer Award). Nagradu odobrava središnjica IEEE Power and Energy Society iz SAD-a koja izrađuje plaketu za dobitnike. U nastavku je popis svih dosadašnjih dobitnika nagrada:
