Brainy data: acquiring and analysing big data in neuroimaging

koje će održati profesor Mark Jenkinson, University of Oxford, Wellcome Centre in Integrative Neuroimaging, FMRIB Centre, UK. Predavanje će se održati u srijedu, 5. rujna 2018. godine u 11 sati u Bijeloj vijećnici FER-a.

Trajanje predavanje je do 60 minuta. Više informacija o predavanju i predavaču pročitajte u nastavku obavijesti.

Sažetak predavanja

In these days of open science and deep learning, big data is key and this is increasing true in the field of neuroimaging. This talk will cover developments in this field relating specifically to multimodal MRI big datasets and how they are acquired and analysed. It will begin with a discussion of the range of datasets that are currently available and how these studies were designed. Following this the methodology behind traditional and recent analysis approaches will be introduced, as well as how the nature of possible investigations in neuroimaging is changing. This will address how population modelling can lead back to clinical benefits for individual patients. No prior knowledge of neuroimaging or MRI will be assumed.

Biografija predavača

Prof. Mark Jenkinson was born in Adelaide, Australia where he obtained first class Honours degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, as well as Mathematical Physics.  His doctoral work was done in the Unversity of Oxford in the area of Computer Vision, supervised by Prof. Sir Michael Brady.  After this he moved into medical imaging and joined the FMRIB centre where his research has concentrated on structural MRI analysis, multimodal analysis and population modelling, especially for clinical research.  Prof. Jenkinson is also co-founder and principal developer of the FSL software package, used in over 1000 laboratories worldwide.  He is the co-editor of a series of introductory textbooks (Oxford Neuroimaging Primers) and is currently Head of the Structural Image Analysis Group at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging (formerly FMRIB).
