Sažetak predavanja

The talk will present results of different projects in Girona's Underwater Robotics Research Lab (https://cirs.udg.edu/) focusing on the evolution in time according to the technologies developed, and specifically on how the inclusion of new sensor approaches such as 3D laser scanning enables different more evolved underwater intervention tasks to be carried on.

Životopis predavača

Dr. Josep Forest received his BsC degree in Computer Engineering in 1992 by the University of Girona (Girona, Catalonia), MsC in Electronics Engineeringby the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1998, and the PhD degree on 3D Machine Vision in 2004. He is a former co-founder of AQSENSE (now part of COGNEX Corporation) and OPSIS Vision Technologies Spin-Off companies, both devoted to commercializing 3D Machine Vision technologies for different fields of application. His current research interests are focused on 3D Machine Vision, including laser triangulation, calibration and detection, lidar, underwater 3D vision, and point cloud processing. His research also includes the usability of 3D vision for industry applications for dimensional testing, quality control and assisted manufacturing.
