Takovi sustavi uključuju navigaciju, radar, sonar, telemetriju i daljinsko upravljanje.

Društvo za geoznanosti i daljinska istraživanja pokriva teoriju, razvoj i ostvarenje sustava za motrenje i daljinska istraživanja Zemlje, oceana, atmosfere i svemira, te procesiranje i interpretaciju prikupljenih podataka.

Abstract

Inventions-patents and development of new methods, products and systems in fields of Smart Phones, Smart TV, Medical, Cardiology (Heart Pacemaker), Automobile and Satellite Communications, Sensor Technologies, GPS and Location Finder/nNvigation and Wireless Technologies are discussed in this Seminar. Some of the inventions of the Feher Patent Portfolio (FPP) are highlighted –including patents directed to cross-correlated quadrature modulated systems and use of these patents in mobile “hot-spots”, in 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G wireless systems (CDMA and OFDM), medical devices, mobile internet, international Global Mobile Systems (GSM) and GPS applications. In this Seminar, I will share some highlights from my 53+ years of Canadian and US academic university research and teaching, industry engineering design, management, consulting and entrepreneur experience. It is my desire to motivate participants of this Seminar, all Young and all “Young at Heart” folks to Improve Humanity, Health and Global Economy, to Invent and Patent new technologies and to enhance true cooperation-International Inventions. Patent Prosecution and Monetization Perspective, Motivation, Challenges, Goals and Dreams of an Engineer-Inventor are discussed-and specific inventions are highlighted. I plan to say a few words about my Passion, Love, Challenges, Frustrations and Successes with Engineering, Inventions, Patents and Independent Inventors Perspective, Challenges, Goals and Dreams--Innovation, Patent Prosecution and Monetization in the USA, Europe and Internationally-Globally. As an example, I will tell the true story –how my life was saved, in high mountains in a snow storm at Lake Tahoe, California by one of my patented GPS based location finder wireless cellphones. I plan to conclude by suggesting some CHALLENGES in the Invention Process and a Potential Co-Operation.

Biography

Dr. Feher is an IEEE Fellow. He received an Electrical-Electronics Engineering (Dipl. Eng.) degree from the University of Zagreb, an M.Sc.A. from the University of Montreal, and his Ph.D. in Digital Communications Engineering from the University of Sherbrooke, Canada. Dr. Feher was a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (EECE) at the University of California, Davis from 1986 to 2003. Before that, he was a Professor at the University of Ottawa, Canada, Concordia University, Montreal, Santa Clara University, and Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. For more than fifty (50) years, Dr. Feher has been an active inventor and product developer, with a focus in digital and wireless communications. In 1984, Dr. Feher founded, and has since been President of Digcom, Inc., a technology development, consulting, and technology transfer/patent licensing company. Through Digcom, Dr. Feher also provided engineering consulting, technology transfer and product development services to a host of U.S. and multi-national corporations. Dr. Feher’s patented inventions have been sold and/or licensed to, and used by, small to medium size companies, as well as some of the largest cellular-wireless communications companies in the world, for use in 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G wireless systems, medical devices, mobile internet, mobile TV, international Global Mobile Systems (GSM) and GPS applications. His technologies have also been used by the U.S. Department of Defense and NASA in telemetry and satellite systems. Dr. Feher’s prior licensees include: Agere Systems, Inc., Agilent, Inc., Analog Devices, Inc., Anritsu, Chi Mei, Enfora, Ericsson, Inc., Herley Industries Inc., High Tech Computer Corp (HTC), Infineon, L3 Communications, Inc., Lucent Technologies Inc., National Semiconductor, Nokia, Inc., Palm, Inc., NXP B.V. (previously Philips Electronics), Prairiecomm, Inc., RF Networks, Inc., Samsung Telecommunications America, L.P., Siemens Information Communication Mobile LLC, Silicon Laboratories, Sony/Ericsson Mobile Communications, T-Mobile Inc., Wi-LAN Inc., Wavecom Inc. (and other major companies which, due to confidentiality reasons, are not listed here). Dr. Feher is the author of six books in the wireless digital communications engineering field, published in the U.S. and translated into Russian and Chinese. He has also authored more than 300 IEEE articles and other publications. He has been issued more than 100 U.S. patents, a number of international patents, and currently has U.S. patents pending (convenient websites to download patents include: www.uspto.gov and www.google.com/patents). His publications, books and patents are in the OFDM, Spread Spectrum, CDMA, TDMA, GSM, GPS, multimode location finding systems, Wi-Fi, Wi-MAX, video, touch screen cellular, and other wired and wireless systems, including medical diagnostic and heart pacemaker systems, quadrature cross-correlated modulation in combination with non-quadrature modulation, signal processing and multi-mode multi-standard wireless and broadcast communications fields.
