Odjel za teoriju i primjenu mikrovalova

Područje interesa Društva za teoriju i primjenu mikrovalova je teorija, primjena i tehnologija mikrovalova, valovoda, bežične tehnologije koji se odnosi na korištenje komponenti, uređaja, prijenosnih linija i sustava vezanih uz generiranje, modulaciju, demodulaciju, upravljanje, prijenos, detekciju kao i efekte elektromagnetskih signala. Uključuje znanstvene, tehničke i industrijske aktivnosti. Teorija i tehnika mikrovalova primjenjuje fizička i matematička počela u analizi struktura dimenzija koje predstavljaju značajan dio valne duljine ili kada se trebaju uzeti u obzir propagacijski aspekti.

Some Recent Activity in EM Waves Research: Reconfigurability, Use of
                       MicroNanoFabrication, and Joint Antenna-Coding Design

koje će održati prof. Julien Perruisseau-Carrier, PhD, profesor na Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (FPFL), Lausanne, Švicarska.
Predavanje će se održati u u četvrtak, 17. studenoga 2011. u 11 sati u Sivoj Vijećnici. Sadržaj predavanja i životopis predavača pročitajte u nastavku obavijesti.

Abstract:

This talk will propose an overview of our recent and on-going activity related to micro- and millimeter-waves. Different topics will be addressed which relate pure electromagnetic wave aspects with neighboring fields. First, we will discuss the need for the dynamic reconfiguration of antennas and other EM-wave passives and introduce some technologies enabling their reconfiguration.  Recent projects and results will then be presented, including implementations based on microfabrication techniques. Then, we will introduce the concept of multiplex transmission using a single RF-frontend and present its first experimental demonstrator.

CV:

Julien Perruisseau-Carrier (S’07-M’09) was born in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1979. He received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2003 and 2007, respectively.
In 2003, he was with the University of Birmingham, UK, first as a visiting EPFL M.Sc student and then as a short-term researcher. From 2004 to 2007, he was with the Laboratory of Electromagnetics and Acoustics (LEMA), EPFL, where he completed his PhD while working on various EU funded projects. From 2007 to 2011 he was with the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC), Barcelona, Spain, as an associate researcher. Since June 2011 he is a Professor at EPFL funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), where he leads the group for Adaptive MicroNano Wave Systems. Prof. Perruisseau-Carrier has led various projects and workpackage at the National, European Space Agency, European, and industrial levels. His main research interest concerns interdisciplinary topics related to electromagnetic micro- and millimeter-waves: dynamic reconfiguration, application of micro/nanotechnology , metamaterials, and joint antenna-coding techniques.
