"Towards cooperative human-robot societies

This talk showcases the work with humanoid robots NAO in the LARICS laboratory, performed mostly within ACROSS project. We track the development and show results of different algorithms for intelligent grasping, playing tic-tac-toe, reading and Kinect based control, along with several human-robot interaction modules. ADORE project (Autism Diagnostic Observation with Robot Evaluator) will be presented. Main goal of the ADORE project is to make the ASD diagnostic process more time efficient and reliable by providing the robot with capabilities to produce social presses and track multiple social cues. The talk will be concluded with preliminary results from first clinical diagnostic tests and future plans.

Životopis:

Frano Petric (M.S.E.E) was born in 1988 in Imotski, Croatia. He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing under the supervision of Professor Zdenko Kovačić in July of 2012 with highest honors (summa cum laude). He received the Rector’s Award in 2011 for his work on walking robots. In October of 2012 he started working in Laboratory for Robotics and Intelligent Control Systems (LARICS) at the Department of Control and Computer Engineering. He is now a PhD student with a scientific focus on social and assistive robotics, but is also working on EC-SAFEMOBIL project. His other scientific interests include navigation of autonomous systems, walking robots, computer science and computer vision. Frano is author of two conference papers and the author of one workshop presentation.
