Područje rada odjela za računarstvo obuhvaća sve vidove teorije, oblikovanja, prakse i primjene metoda i sustava vezanih uz računarstvo i obradu informacija. Djelovanje odjela usmjereno je na znanstvenu, stručnu, obrazovnu i društvenu komponentu. Kroz razmjenu tehničkih informacija i znanstvenih spoznaja, odjel teži unaprjeđenju struke i održavanju visoko profesionalnog položaja među članovima. S druge strane, kroz organizaciju znanstvenih i stručnih predavanja i rasprava te izdavanje tehničkih časopisa, promiče se višedisciplinarna suradnja s drugim strukama i otvorenom društvenom zajednicom.

Abstract
Chinese manufacturers find it very difficult to choose a suitable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to facilitate their operations and management. Among the factors influencing an organization's decisions on using or not using an ERP system as well as the decision on using which type of ERP system, organizational culture and Supply Chain Management (SCM) practices are considered as two important variables. Based on a survey in 190 manufacturing firms in China, we empirically tested the direct effects of organizational culture and SCM practices as well as the intervening role of SCM practices on the decisions upon ERP systems. Results demonstrate the important roles of organizational culture and SCM practices on ERP decisions. Specifically, we find that such issues as process vs. results oriented, open vs. closed system, and information sharing, significantly influence the decision on using or not using ERP system; in addition, loose vs. tight control, normative vs. pragmatic, information quality, and internal agile practices, significantly influence the decision on which type of ERP system to use. In addition, the findings confirm the proposed intervening roles that SCM practices (in terms of information sharing, information quality and internal agile practices) play in the relationships between organizational culture and ERP decisions.

Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Mincong Tang received his PhD degree in Management Information Systems from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2011. He obtained a master degree in management sciences and engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) in 2005. From August 2011 to May 2012, Dr. Tang taught information systems and e-commerce for undergraduates in CUHK. He also was an honorary research fellow in the center of cyber logistics in CUHK from August 2012 to November 2012. Since November 2012, he is appointed as the associate director of the International Center for Informatics Research (ICIR) of BJTU. Dr. Tang's research interests include information systems development and adoption, enterprise resources planning systems, supply chain management, organizational culture and information securities.
