Odjel industrijske primjene

Područje djelovnja Odjela industrijske primjene je unaprijeđenje teorije i primjene inženjerstva u razvoju, oblikovanju, proizvodnji i primjeni električkih sustava, uređaja, aparata i upravljanja procesa i opreme u industriji; promocija sigurnih, pouzdanih i ekonomski isplativih instalacija; nužnost industrije kao predvodnice u pitanjima očuvanja energije i okoliša, zdravlja i sigurnosti; stvaranje inženjerskih standarada i postupaka; profesionalni razvoj članova.

Odjel industrijske primjene Hrvatske sekcije IEEE osnovan je 30. travnja 2008. godine.

Odjel za industrijske primjene ima jedan studentski odjel, koji djeluje u okviru Studentskog ogranka Sveučilišta u Zagrebu.

"Operation and Control of Regenerative Drives and Grid Tied Converters"

 

koje će održati Vladimir Blaško iz tvrtke United Technologies Research Center, East Hartford, CT, USA u srijedu, 29.03.2017., u 11:30 h, u Sivoj Vijećnici Fakulteta elektrotehnike i računarstva Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, Unska 3, Zagreb.

Predavanje je na engleskom jeziku, a predviđeno trajanje s raspravom je 90 minuta. Otvoreno je za sve zainteresirane, a posebno pozivamo studente.

Abstract:

Regenerative drives with 3- phase AC/DC Voltage Source Converters (VSC) at the front – grid side provide bi-directional power flow, low harmonic current distortion, unity power factor and fixed DC bus voltage. Thus, with these good features, regenerative drives with advancement of power electronics become very attractive solution in high performance applications requiring frequent acceleration and deceleration like elevator drives, cranes, servo drives etc.

The presentation will provide historic perspective and evolution of regenerative electric drives in industrial applications and transition of their three phase front end VSC into grid type of applications for alternative energy. The principle of operation of regenerative three phases AC/DC-VSC will be explained first. It will be followed with the derivation of mathematical models of a VSC in abc and αβ stationary reference frames. The stationary αβ model will be transferred to synchronous reference dq model convenient for derivation of control strategy. The cascaded control structure will be discussed and similarities of VSC control with vector control of electrical machines will be pointed out. Phase Lock Loop (PLL) system for synchronization and locking with the grid, as an essential part for reliable operation and stability, will be explained. Operation of VSC at increased grid voltage and criteria for section of the DC bus voltage will be discussed. The methodology for tuning voltage, current, PLL and “field weakening” regulators will be presented. The presentation will end up with the analysis and comments on practical issues facing the design and applications of 3 phase grid type inverters.

 

Short bio:

Vladimir Blasko holds a position of a Senior Fellow at United Technologies Research Center, USA. Previously he worked for Otis Elevator Company - USA, Rockwell Automation - Allen Bradley Company USA, and Research Institute of Koncar Company - Zagreb, Croatia. Dr. Blasko has published more than 40 papers and holds more than 30 patents. He is IEEE Fellow, Adjunct Professor at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and Adjunct Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Zagreb – Croatia.  He is a member of Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering. His primary areas of research interest are power electronics, modern AC drives, distributed energy systems, intelligent power management, and applied modern control theory and technology.
